Neon Heaven in London E17: God’s Own Junk Yard

If you’re looking for somewhere a little different to go on a weekend, you could head to this industrial estate in the backstreets of Upper Walthamstow.

Here you will find this graveyard of neon signs: like Vegas all crammed into a small room.

They have their own cafe, the Rolling Scones cafe.

This is a great find if you are a fan of kitsch museums (oh, I am). Small, but crammed full of all things tacky.

Then after you’ve seen your fill of tacky neon lights you can wander out and find a gin palace and beer garden on the same industrial estate.

God’s Own Junkyard, Ravenswood Industrial Estate, Shernhall street, Walthamstow, London E17.  Bit of a haul to get there, but worth it.  Open Friday to Sunday.  Free, but note it is also a shop.

  1. Oh I really want to go here but like you say, it’s a bit of a hike from central London. Hopefully will get there on my next visit 😊

    • Worth the trip but I have strange tastes. I tried to go somewhere similar in Las Vegas, got a cab out there and then found you could only go in by prearranged appointment. Should do more research.

      • Oh yeah I know about the Vegas one too.. haven’t been to that city yet but I will have to remember to make an appointment if i want to visit!
