I’m not much of a romantic; I always thought the fashion for writing the names of you and your loved one on a padlock, locking it to a bridge and then throwing the key into the Seine was a little twee.
Now it seems I’ve been proved right and according to the Washington Post, this bridge in Paris is collapsing under all the weight.
Maybe this is a sign to make sure this trend doesn’t catch on elsewhere? (I can’t remember where I was in London earlier this month, but I noticed padlocks appearing there).
